History of Stevie B’s

Stevie B’s was set up in April 1993 by Steve Perkins. Originally the gym was used as a training camp only for Bodybuilders and Strength Athletes.

Within the first two years, it was apparent that remarkable achievements were about to unfold.

By 1996, the gym’s reputation and achievements were only surpassed by the established “Better Bodies” in Manchester and “Muscleworks” in Bethnal Green.

A change in direction saw World Powerlifting titles come in 1997, 1998, and 1999. A further change in direction saw World, European, and British ground fighting champions at Stevie B’s.

From the very outset, we have been very lucky to have had both World class athletes and World class advice from people who have given much for little or no financial reward.

In 1997, the gym was taken over by its present owner, former British Bodybuilding Champion, Sarah Brindle.  She has spared no expense in attracting and facilitating the best clubs and coaches possible.

However, Stevie B’s Gym & Martial Arts Academy is by no mean elitist. It just happens to have such a quality-based nature. Since Sarah’s takeover in ‘97, the gym has become a community beacon, being involved in local and national charity fund raising events, Government projects designed to benefit disadvantaged youngsters, and also work involvement with local Education Authorities – all on a voluntary basis.
